Keep your ear to the ground. The masive spending bill that Obama just signed may have something in it for you, and it is too early to tell how easy it will be to get access to those benefits.
* Refinancing home mortages to get a lower monthly payment
* Extension of unemployment benefits (and food stamps)
The unemployment may just kick in automatically if you are already receiving it, but you may have to contact your bank directly to find out about the refinancing.
There are other benefits coming, too--not paying taxes on some unemployment benefits... tuition credits... deals for house/car loands. Just keep your eyes and ears open!
